Museum of the Month: Fountainhead Antique Auto Museum

This museum contains a fascinating collection of beautifully restored pre-World War 2 vehicles which had been selected because they represented examples of innovative and/or risk taking technologies, many of which did not achieve commercial success in their initial appearances. Although the innovations may have taken up by other manufacturers in later vehicles. As a reflection of this, many of the vehicles in the museum’s collection came from unfamiliar manufacturers and were often one of the very few surviving examples of what had been very small production runs. The museum’s focus on examples of practical innovation that may or may not have survived the test of the marketplace make it particularly interesting.
