Bridge enthusiast James Baughn created Bridgehunter.com to memorialize historic bridges – workhorses and showhorses alike. The site is constantly updated with photos, topographic and interactive maps, facts, history and status of bridges, using his own work and work contributed by others. “Historic” in this context is in the eye of the beholder, and may be triggered as much by nostalgia or looks as by actual historic designation. Over 57,000 bridges are cataloged and also indexed by design features.
