The website Waymarking.com allows users to post the location and information about whatever they come across that may be of enough interest to share with others. Its 1,083 categories include “Orphaned Bridges,” made up of bridges that no longer serve their original purpose.

For a specific example, portions of Bankhead Highway bridges survive as recreational structures in the middle Lake Ray Hubbard in Texas.
