A Journey Down Market Street in San Francisco …before and after the 1906 earthquake

The importance of keeping our infrastructure in good condition is a popular topic, this includes not only keeping our roads and bridges in prime operating condition but also the infrastructure used to provide water to drink or to fight fires, and making sure that buildings are constructed according to building codes that are current to prevent buildings from collapsing when they face earthquake or high wind loads.  The YouTube video which provides a grim reminder of how fragile our infrastructure can be by providing a before and after journey down Market Street in San Francisco using video taken days before and after the catastrophic 1906 earthquake which devastated the city.
