The International Association for the History of Transport, Traffic and Mobility (T2M) is hosting its 2014 conference in Philadelphia September 18-24.
“Spinoffs of Mobility: Technology, Risk & Innovation” will be the theme of the conference. Featured speakers include:
- Dr. Mae-Po Kwan, Professor of Geography at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Utrecht University, whose research addresses health, social, transport, economic, and environmental issues in urban areas through the application of innovative geographic information system (GIS) methods.
- Dr. Rae Zimmerman, Professor of Planning and Public Administration at NYU’s Wagner School of Public Service and author of Transport, The Environment and Security: Making the Connection (Edward Elgar, 2010).
This event offers a rare chance for stateside transportation history enthusiasts to learn more about current scholarship and debates at the international level. The last T2M conference held in the United States was in New York in 2005.
